Nine more NJCAA marks met at Gaucho Invitational

  Glendale, AZ -   NJCAA qualifying standards were shattered nine more times during Mesa's participation at the Gaucho Indoor Saturday.

  Five of the marks were broken by men, including two in new events.

  Conner Dosmann earned his spot in the mile with a 4:22.24 clock. That was his first qualifying time of the year.

  One other athlete, Jacob Samford, added q second event to his list. He ran the 200 in 21.52 to add to his 48.61 in the 400 giving his two places at nationals.

  In addition, Andrew McCumber, improved his mark in the 1,000 to 2:34.17.

  Two others also bested the NJCAA standard, but already have bettere marks. Makel Hubbard clocked 8.42 in the 60-meter hurdles, but already has an 8.19 to his credit. Andrew McCumber improved his 1,000 time to 2:34.17.

  Among the MCC women, Destinee Jackson added her name to the NJCAA qualifying list by running the 60 hurdles in 9.05 and A.J. Bowens joined the list in the weight throw at 60-5.

  Beth Huber improved her pole vault standard to 11-7 ¼.

  Jolynn Fleming equaled her performance in the pole vault at 10-7 ½.

  The T-Birds will compete at home next weekend. They will host the Mesa Indoor & Multi Saturday, with the multi events actually beginning Friday.
