Men's tennis sweeps Western New Mexico and NMMI
Mesa, AZ – It was a big weekend for the MCC men's tennis team, scoring wins over New Mexico Military, 8-1 and NCAA Division II Western New Mexico, 6-3.
In the win over four-year Western New Mexico the T-Birds captured three singles and all three doubles.
Mesa's No. 1, Kyryll Kryvchun, had a pair of wins. He was victorious over WNM's Liam Fraboulet, 6-2, 6-1 and also stopped Bulus of NMMI, 6-0, 6-4.
Gonzalo Fernandez scored a solid 6-0, 6-1 win over Oscar Serra, of WNM at No. 4 and Jorge Sala won by default against the four-year team and 6-2, 6-1 over NMMI.
MCC scored wins at No. 1 doubles in both matches by 9-7 scores behind Kyryll Kryvchun and Fernandez as well at No. 2 with Maxim Kirsch and Lucas Severo winning both matches.
Mesa will host Arizona Christian Monday at 1:30 at the MCC courts.
