Men's tennis entries reach semis at ITA California Regionals
Cerritos, Calif – Playing at the strong ITA California Regional Championships, Mesa's men's singles and doubles entries both reached the semi-finals over the weekend.
George Rendek ran through the 64-player main draw to the next-to-last round before falling to Cerritos College's Ken Hunter 3-6, 1-6. He had won three previous matches and received a bye in the opening round.
He teamed with Jeff Martin to win through to the semi-finals of the main doubles draw before bowing to Hunter and Prokopchuck, 4-8. They had previously won three matches as well and received a first round bye.
The T-Birds have several up-coming scrimmages in October and will play in the Grand Canyon University tournament Nov, 3-5.
