Mesa, AZ - Men's and Women's tennis coach, Adam Cohen, has been hired by the University of Texas at Tyler, to coach their men's and women's programs.

Cohen takes over a UT Tyler program that has seen its share of success since entering the NCAA in 2003.  The Patriots play in the American Southwest Conference and have won 17 conference championships.

"We're excited to welcome Adam to UT Tyler's coaching staff," said UT Tyler Vice President for Student Affairs, Howard Patterson.

Cohen first took over the Mesa men's program back in 2007, posting a 107-41 overall record, while advancing to the NJCAA tournament nine of his 11 years.

Not long after taking over the men's program, Cohen began with the women's program in 2008, posting a 102-45 overall record.  He has coached over 150 all-conference selections and seven of his teams have been honored as Academic All-American teams.

The Thunderbirds didn't look too far for a suitable replacement for Coach Cohen as they have hired Ali Bohrani on an interim basis.  Bohrani served as Cohen's assistant for the past few seasons and he was honored this past season with the NJCAA Assistant Coach of the Year award.
