California power Cypress tops men's tennis, 7-2
Cypress, Calif. – The No. 3-ranked team in California, Cypress College, ended the Mesa men's tennis team's seven-match winning streak with a 7-2 victory Thursday in the first of a three-match trip to the state for MCC.
Said Mesa head coach Adam Cohen, "Cypress is a great team and I hope we learned a lot."
The T-Birds' only singles win came from Eduardo Cuoto in a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 win at No. 5 over Ingmar Remmerswaal. The No. 2 doubles team of David Felix and George Rendek scored an 8-4 win over Yubo Chen and Gertjan De Wilder.
It doesn't get any easier for Mesa Friday as the T-Birds visit No. 2 Cerritos at 2:00 p.m.
