Men's and Women's Rankings Released in Preparation for Nationals

SKILLMAN, N.J. – Mesa's two tennis teams will enter NJCAA national play both ranked in the top ten in the nation according to rankings released Friday. Several individuals are also ranked.  

The MCC men sit at No. 8 in the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis rankings, having posted a 12-1 overall record. They will play in nationals May 16-20 in Plano, Texas.  

The T-Bird women, who are 17-1, and are ranked No. 9, will compete in Tyler, Texas, May 7-13.  

Individually, Sacha Modica (Fr., London, England) is 15th in singles, while Shimon Murakami (Fr., Sapporo, Japan) is No. 43. In doubles, Murakami and Max Wightman (So., Scottsdale, AZ/Desert Mountain H.S.) are rated No. 23.  

For the women, Emily Chang (Fr., Sao Paulo, Brazil) holds the No. 6 spot in singles Khahn Huynh (Fr., Vietnam) is No. 23 and Yolanda Carlon (Fr., Mesa, AZ) is No. 41. Chang and Huynh are ranked No. 6 in doubles.
