Men's Soccer Finish Regular Season On Winning Note, 3-0 Over Paradise Valley

Mesa, AZ - A win would solidify a playoff spot.  A loss would most likely secure a playoff spot.  So why not win and finish the regular season on a good note and that's exactly what the Mesa men's soccer team did Thursday night in its 3-0 win over Paradise Valley.

Tied at zero at halftime, Mesa scored all three of its goals in the second half.  The first came from Benji Delgadillo, who scored on a penalty kick in the 56th minute.

The second goal came just a few minutes later off the foot of Aaron Coloma, his first career goal as a Mesa Thunderbird.  Three minutes later, Jose Martinez scored his first career goal off a header, which gave Mesa its 3-0 advantage.

With the victory, Mesa finishes the regular season 8-10-2.  They will be the sixth seed in the ACCAC playoffs that start next Tuesday.  As of right now, their opponent is yet to be determined.  Check back to the mesatbirdsports.com website and Twitter for continually playoff updates.
