Former men's soccer star Luke Bunjovac signs with Premier Development League

  MESA, AZ - Former Mesa men's soccer star Luke Bunjovac has signed to play for the Puget Sound Gunners FC, of the Premier Development League.

  Bunjovac. a native of Glendale, AZ, played for the T-Birds in 2013 and earned second team all-ACCAC and all-Region I honors  He scored four goals and had one assist, helping lead MCC to its first Region I playoff berth in several years.

  After graduating from Mesa he moved on to Humboldt (Calif.) State where he started all 15 games in which he played, on defense last year.

  The Puget Sound Gunners FC are part of a conference of teams all across the nation which often serves as a developing ground for Major League Soccer and the United Soccer League. A total of 189 players currently on MLS rosters have passed through the PDL.

  The Gunners will open their season on May 17 visiting the Calgary (Canada) Foothills FC.
