Paradise Valley, AZ- Men's soccer finished the regular season on a high note by defeated Paradise Valley, 5-1.
The Pumas did put the first goal on the board early on in the match but Mesa quickly tightened up its defence to score the next five goals.
The first goal for Mesa was scored by Ignacio Rios(So., Mesa, AZ, Dobson, AZ) then it was Mikey Aguirre(So., Chandler, AZ, Perry H.S.) who scored the second goal on a penalty kick at the 12:18 mark of the first half.
Fabian Sanchez(So., Yuma, AZ, Kofa H.S.) scored the third goal for Mesa in first half on a header with an assist from Ari Sanchez(So., Gilbert, AZ, Highland H.S.).
Mesa kept the scoring going into second half when Brian Perea(Fr., Mesa, AZ, Mesa H.S.) was able to get past the Puma keeper with an easy goal to put Mesa up 4-1.
Ari Sanchez scored the final goal for Mesa in the last minute to put the final score to 5-1.
Mesa will now head to the post season as the #6 seed.
