  MESA, AZ - The Mesa men's soccer team picked up its second win in as many games with a 2-1 victory over Arizona Western Thursday at John D. Riggs Stadium.

  After a scoreless first half, Ari Sanchez, pictured right, (So., Gilbert, AZ/Highland H.S.) tallied just 44 seconds into the second half to put MCC on top to stay.

  Bryan Perea (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Mesa H.S.) gave MCC some insurance with a goal in the 79th minute.

  It proved to be the difference as AWC added a goal in the final 30 seconds to spoil a potential second straight shutout by Alejandro Nogales (Fr., San Luis, AZ/San Luis H.S) who made eight saves.

  Mesa travels to third-ranked Yavapai Saturday for a 6:00 p.m. game
