Men's Soccer Places Three on ACCAC/Region I Teams
MESA, AZ - Wrapping up its most successful season since 2007 the Mesa men's soccer team has earned three spots on the all-ACCAC/Region I teams.
Leading the way was goalkeeper Kendyl Day (Fr., Gilbert, AZ/.Basha H.S.) who was named to the first team. He had six shutouts and limited opponents to a 1.50 goals against average.
Earning second team honors was Luke Bunjovac (So., Peoria, AZ/Centennial H.S.) who was the T-Birds' second leading scorer with four goals and an assist.
Danny Molina (So., Tempe, AZ/Marcos de Niza H.S.) was named all-ACCAC Honorable Mention who had three goals and two assists.
MCC posted its first winning season since 2006 with a 10-9-2 record, including ties with top-ranked opponents Yavapai and Phoenix. Mesa also made its first post-season appearance since 2007, playing in the ACCAC/Region I quarter-finals.
