Men's golf wins annual match with Wabash (Ind.)
Mesa, AZ – For the 15th consecutive year the Mesa men's golf team hosted Wabash College, of Crawfordsville, Ind., at the Dobson Ranch G.C. Wednesday.
The annual contest began in 2005 due to a friendship between MCC's Hall of Fame coach Tom Bennett and Wabash coach Mac Petty. Wabash is an NCAA Division III school. Bennett is a Wabash alumnus and also a member of the school's athletic Hall of Fame.
Mesa won the contest, 288-309 with Bosse Lensson leading the way with a five-under-par 67. Justin Kopp paced the Little Giants with a 75.
Other MCC scores: Tyler Coxworth, 72; Logan Eatherton, 74; Brendan Cobb 75; Dylan Middlemis, 76; Jake Aboud, 77 and Britton Liming, 78.
The T-Birds return to ACCAC play March 25-26 at the Scottsdale Invitational which will be played at the Hillcrest G.C., in Sun City, AZ.
