Hardman, Guess each earn All-America honors at NJCAA men's golf

Foley, Ala. – Austin Hardman and Jake Guess both finished strong on the final day of the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship and each earned second team All-American honors.

Hardman closed in a tie for 11th place and Guess was tied for 13th at the Glen Lakes G.C. on the fourth day of competition which was interrupted by lightning for the fourth consecutive day. They were the top two individuals not associated with a competing team.

Hardman shot a one-under-par 71 Thursday to finish at two-over 290 for the 72 holes. He started strong with birdies on three of his first four holes covering the front nine in two under par. After bogeying his 14th and 15th holes, he parred out for the 71.

Guess did just the opposite in crafting a three-under-par 69 to close with a three-over 291 total.

He struggled through the front nine in two-over, but then closed with a rush with five birdies over the last nine holes. For Guess it was his second straight year earning All-America honors.

This was the third time in the last four years that Mesa has had at least one All-American.
