Men's golf places second at regionals, heads to nationals; Harpe wins individual title
Gold Canyon, AZ – The Mesa men's golf team took second place, and Dean Harpe won the individual title, at the Region I, Division II Championship Sunday.
MCC couldn't catch South Mountain, which won with a 1202 total to 1214 for the T-Birds. Both teams will advance to the NJCAA Division II National Championship which will be played at the Longbow G.C., in Mesa, May 23-26.
Harpe closed with a 72-hole total of 290 to win by five shots over Fillip Lundell, of South Mountain.
Gage Grimes finished fourth for Mesa at 304. Jake Guess was eighth carding a 309. Brad Pottle tied for 13th with a 315 total and Jeff Kelley was tied for 15th at 320.
