Men's Golf Takes a Sixth Place Finish at High Country Shootout
RUIDOSO, N.M. – A strong third round helped propel the Mesa men's golf team to a sixth place finish among 11 top NJCAA teams at the High Country Shootout played at The Links at Sierra Blanca G.C. Sunday and Monday.
MCC shot a 285 after going 291-290 in the opening two rounds for a two-over- par 866 total.
Leading the way for the T-Birds was Jeff Kelley with a four-under- par 73-73- 67—212 which placed him tied for 11th.
Dean Harpe and Jake Guess both tied for 31st. Harpe fired a 75-74- 69—218 and Guess carded a 73-71-74—218. Mesa's fourth scorer was Zane Smith with a 73-72- 75—220, tying him for 38th place.
MCC will wrap up its Fall season at the Colorado State-Mesa Fall Invite Oct. 23-25.
