Update on Men's Golf Regionals

GOLD CANYON, AZ – The Mesa men's golf team began play in the Region I championship with a 292 total on Day 1 at the Gold Canyon G.C. Sidewinder Course to trail leading South Mountain by ten shots.  

T.J. Katherineberg (So., Mesa, AZ/Desert Ridge H.S.) shared the opening day lead by firing an even par 70.  

Alex Trevino (So., Gilbert, AZ/Mesquite H.S.) tied for sixth place at 72 and Jeff Kelley (Fr., Payson, AZ/Payson H.S.) is eighth, one shot back.  

The tournament continues daily through Sunday.
