Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds men's basketball team officially clinched the #3 seed in the Region I - ACCAC DI Tournament with its 68-63 win over Chandler-Gilbert Saturday afternoon at MCC.
Following the hot hand of point guard Carlos Saucedo, who scored a career high 20 points, Mesa shot well all game from the field, shooting 26-59 overall and connecting on nine three-pointers, four of which came from Saucedo.
Also having a big night for Mesa was Jok Jok, scored 15 points and had six assists while Dane Maggi connected on 3-4 three-pointers.
The T-Birds will now wait til after the games on Tuesday night to see who they officially play in the semi-final round of the Region I Tournament. The semi-final round will be played on Saturday, February 29th at the highest seed with the Championship game being played on Monday, March 2nd at the remaining highest seed. Each game will start at 7 pm.
