Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds men's basketball team secured the #3 seed in the ACCAC DI playoffs with a victory over the South Mountain Cougars in Tuesday nights regular season finale, 83-63.
Though the T-Birds tied for an 11-11 conference record with Eastern Arizona, it was Mesa who defeated Cochise College once during the season while the Gila Monsters lost both times to Cochise.
During Tuesday nights game, Elijah Moore was the spark plug for Mesa as he scored 20 points on 8-12 shooting, knocking down four three-pointers in the process. Also scoring in double-figures was Rajhan Billingsley who scored 18 while Kyle Fischer scored 14 points.
Mesa will now travel to Yuma, AZ to battle the #2 Arizona Western Matadors in the semi-final round of the ACCAC DI playoffs this coming Saturday, March 2nd. Game times will be announced in the upcoming days.
