Last Second Three Attempt Falls Short for Mesa in 80-77 Loss to Scottsdale

Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds men's basketball team lost Saturday evening to the Scottsdale Artichokes, 80-77.  Though Mesa had one final attempt at tying the game at 80 and sending it to overtime, a missed three-pointer by Rajhan Billingsley sealed Scottsdale victory.

It was Billingsley's team-high 19 points that helped Mesa be in a position late to try to tie things up.  The T-Birds started out hot to begin the game, having a 12 point advantage halfway through the first half, 25-13.

By halftime however, Scottsdale had tied the game at 43 and from there on out, it was anyone's game.

Mesa falls to 9-7 overall and 5-4 in conference play.  The T-Birds will play again at home next Wednesday night against the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes, beginning at 7:30 pm.
