NEWMAN! Errol Newman's 24 Points Pace Mesa Over Glendale, 93-75

Mesa, AZ - Mesa's Errol Newman almost seem unstoppable Saturday afternoon as the freshman forward from Las Vegas scored 24 points to help lead the Thunderbirds over the visiting Glendale Gauchos, 93-75.

Newman shot 9-16 overall while knocking down all three of his three pointers to set a new career high for himself.  He was also one rebound shy of a double-double, pulling down nine boards on the afternoon.

Ramon Franklin finished with a double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down 11 rebounds while Sindou Diallo finished with 15 points and five assists.  Brent Kimbrel and Antwan Ross-Jones each scored 12 points as well.

Mesa forced 13 Gaucho turnovers which the T-Birds turned into 26 points on the other end while also dominating Glendale in the paint, outscoring the Gauchos, 38-22.

The T-Birds are back to a .500 record on the season at 10-10 while sporting an 8-5 ACCAC record.  The T-Birds will be on the for two straight games this next week, first at Arizona Western on Wednesday night then down at Tohono O'odham next Saturday, both games at 7:30 pm.
