Men's BBall Score 89-67 Victory Over South Mountain

Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds men's basketball team returned to their winning ways Wednesday night with a 22 point victory over South Mountain, 89-67.

The T-Birds had five players score in double-figures with Mikel Byers and Malique Washington each scoring 14 points.  For Washington, that was his career high.  Brent Kimbrel finished with 13 points while Ramon Franklin and Elijah Moore each scored 12 points.

Not only did Franklin score 12 points on the night but the sophomore forward pulled down 13 rebounds, had three assists and two steals.  Mesa out-rebounded the Cougars 42-26 with Mesa outscoring the Cougars on second chance points, 17-8.

Mesa connected on nine three pointers on the night and finished with an overall 47.1 (32-68) percent shooting on the night.

The T-Birds are now 9-10 overall and 7-5 in the ACCAC.  Mesa will play at home this coming Saturday at 4 pm against the Glendale Gauchos.
