Men's Basketball Preview: Season Opener at Indian Hills Classic, WATCH LIVE
The Mesa Thunderbirds men's basketball kick off their season tonight when they play DII #14 Kirkwood Community College at the Indian Hills Classic in Ottumwa, IA. It will one of two games the T-Birds play in the tournament, with the big matchup coming tomorrow against DI #6 Indian Hills.
For the T-Birds, they return a good core of players that saw significant playing time last season. Malique Washington and Brent Kimbrel return at the point guard position while Bryce Cheney and Adonis Arms return on the wings for the T-Birds. Sam Ballard and his coaching staff are very excited about the talent and athleticism of what some of the new guys have to offer.
The T-Birds will have one more scrimmage on November 8th at home but their regular season home opener will be on December 6th vs Tohono O'odham.
