T-Birds Extend Recruiting Into 'The Outback'

With the recent success of recruiting International student-athletes and assisting them in getting full scholarships at the 4-year level - the T-Birds Men's Basketball program have dipped into the talent-rich pool of Australia to further bolster its 2017 recruiting class.

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia - 6'4 Guard Joel Donnelly possess a high basketball IQ to compliment a very versatile and agile attack on the court. Joel was a two-time champion while attending Box Hill Senior Secondary College (same school as current Philadelphia 76er Ben Simmons).

Most recently, Joel was the starting shooting guard for the Knox Raiders Under-20 first team where he averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals per game.

"Joel has already proven to be a team-first guy - which we really like. He's been very engaged with everything that's been happening with the program since even before his signing. He's eager to arrive and wants to get in the gym right off of the plane. That type of desire to be in the gym working and improving will help him fit in right away and will help him become successful in our program. We look forward to continuing to develop and strengthen our International recruiting pipelines."
