Vos-Otin Lay In Seals OT Win vs Pima, 94-93

Mesa, AZ - Playing in their fourth overtime game in their last seven games, Mesa gets an important victory over Pima, 94-93.

Mesa this season has played in a total of five overtime games, winning three of the five games.  In their latest OT thriller, the T-Birds had six players score in double figures, five of which players came off the bench for Mesa.

Leading the way was Jamil-Wilson Jones, who had 19 points and seven assists.  Michael Vos-Otin finished with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists while Noe Anabir finished with 13 points, James Hampshire finished with 12 points and Brent Kimbrel and Austin Denham each scoring 10 points each.

Mesa fell behind ealry on, going down 12-4 in the first five minutes and down 19-10 with about 10 minutes to play in the first half.

But the T-Birds battled back in the last 10 minutes, taking the lead at 36-33 with 2:14 left in the half.  Pima though would regain the lead and take a one point lead into halftime, 41-40.

Both teams exchanged leads in the second half, culminating in a last second shot for the Pumas, which they scored with two seconds left to send it to overtime.

In the overtime, Mesa had big three pointers from Brent Kimbrel and Jamil Wilson-Jones, along with a monster dunk from James Hampshire but it was the Vos-Otin layin that sealed the victory for the T-Birds, 94-93.

With the victory, Mesa moves to 12-9 in conference play, which puts them in the third spot for the ACCAC DI Conference Tournament.  With one game to play, it looks as though Mesa will either have to travel to Cochise or Arizona Western, depending on how they finish the regular season on Tuesday night.
