Kimbrels 35 Points Pace Mesa Past Artichokes, 105-84

Mesa, AZ - Scoring a team season high 35 points, Brent Kimbrel led the visiting Mesa Thunderbirds over the Scottsdale Artichokes Wednesday night, 105-84.

Mesa took a quick 16-6 advantage in the first four minutes of the game, using both fast break layups and long range three's to account for the early lead.

Austin Denham accounted for 10 first half points with Jamil Wilson-Jones adding six with Antwan Ross-Jones scoring five of his points.

With 10 minutes to play in the first half, Mesa held a 30-17 lead but the Artichokes went on a short scoring run, going on a 17-8 run to the three minute mark of the first half.

Mesa went into halftime with a 48-42 lead but the T-Birds unleashed for 58 second half points, lead by Kimbrel's five three pointers. 

The T-Birds are now 12-3 overall, and sit atop the ACCAC standings at 7-1.  Mesa will have a huge conference game this Saturday when they host Cochise College, who sit tied for second in the ACCAC with a 6-2 conference record.  Tip off against Cochise will be at 4 p.m.
