Basketball Playoff Push Visits South Mountain Saturday
MESA, AZ - With both teams making a late push for positions in the Region I tournaments, the Mesa men's and wome's basketball teams visit South Mountain Saturday.
The MCC women (11-13, 8-8 in the ACCAC) are currently tied with Phoenix for third place in the Region I, Division II, standings and are just one game back of Scottsdale which is second. They will meet a South Mountain team at 2:00 p.m. Saturday which is struggling through an 0-20, 0-16 season. Mesa won the first meeting this year, 74-26.
The T-Bird men (10-11, 9-7) now sit in fourth place in the Region I, Division I race, one game ahead of Central Arizona. South Mountain is 14-10, 10-6 in Division II. MCC squeeked out an 83-81 win at home earlier this year. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
