Thomas MacVittie, Trevor Russell Earn Week 2 WSFL Player of the Week Honors

For the second week in a row, Mesa Thunderbirds quarterback, Thomas MacVittie, has earned Western States Football League Offensive Player of the Week for his perfomance at Glendale Saturday night.  Also earning Special Teams Player of the Week honors was Trevor Russell.

MacVittie went 20-34 passing for 238 yards, four touchdowns with two interceptions while also rushing for 43 yards on six carries for two touchdowns. 

Trevor Russell finished the night with three punt returns for 93 yards and one touchdown.  His 76 yard punt return for a touchdown happen just before halftime to put Mesa up, 41-3.

MacVittie and Russell's efforts helped the Thunderbirds defeat the Glendale Gauchos, 56-19, and helped Mesa move to 2-0 on the season.
