Sonnie Richardson Earns 2017 NJCAA All-American Honors
Mesa Thunderbirds sophomore wide receiver Sonnie Richardson has earned NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention for the 2017 season.
Richardson was the T-Birds main target in the passing attack as he caught 74 passes this season, which ranked him fourth nationally while averaging 6.7 reception per game, ranking him fifth nationally. His 848 receiving yards was good for seventh nationally while his nine touchdown catches placed him in a tie for sixth nationally.
In his career as a Mesa Thunderbird, Richardson played in all 22 games, collecting 119 total receptions for 1227 yards and 12 touchdowns, his longest going for 81 yards.
