Valley of the Sun Bowl to Feature Mesa Thunderbirds and ASA Brooklyn Avengers December 2nd

With bowl season upon the NJCAA football world, the Mesa Thunderbirds will once again host the Valley of the Sun Bowl and they will welcome the #16 ASA Brooklyn Avengers out of Brooklyn, New York.

The T-Birds and Avengers will do battle on December 2nd at John D. Riggs Stadium on the campus of Mesa Community College with a 2 pm kickoff.

ASA Brooklyn comes out of the Northeast Football Conference where there are only two other teams, Monroe College and the team who Mesa defeated in last year's Valley of the Sun Bowl, the Lackawanna Falcons.  The Avengers finished the season with an 8-1 overall record with their only loss coming at the hands of Georgia Military in double-overtime, 39-38.  Averaging 43.4 points per game, ASA Brooklyn average 469.2 yards per game while just giving up 174.1 yards per game.

With a win this past Saturday night against the Pima Aztecs, 49-17, the Mesa Thunderbirds solidified their spot in consecutive Valley of the Sun Bowl games.  Finishing the season with a 6-4 overall record, the T-Birds averaged 38.5 points per game while averaging 444.1 yards per game.
