Christian Lopez Earns WSFL Offensive Player of the Week

For the second time this season, Mesa Thunderbirds quarterback Christian Lopez has earned Western States Football League Offensive Player of the Week, this time for his performance against the Pima Aztecs in a 49-17 victory Saturday night.

Lopez tossed five touchdown passes and threw for 303 yards, connecting with 10 different receivers and four different receivers on the touchdown passes.  On the season, Lopez is currently second in the NJCAA in touchdown passes with 32 and fifth in the NJCAA in passing yards with 2,614.

For the Mesa Thunderbirds, this is their fourth WSFL honors this season, the others coming from Soni Fonua and Darius Aguirre.
