Jake Fryer Hits Walkoff 2-Run Homer to Beat Dawson, 6-4

Mesa, AZ - The #7 Mesa Thunderbirds defeated the Dawson Buccaneers in walkoff fashion Monday afternoon, 6-4.

Freshman Jake Fryer provided the final power in the bottom of the ninth inning when he connected on a no-doubter to left field with Sam Low on first base.

That hit gave Fryer his third of the game while fellow freshman Sam Low also had three hits on the afternoon, both players going 3-5 on the day.

On the mound, Mike Marshall started for the T-Birds, throwing four innings, allowing five hits and striking out six.  Zane Pollon followed Marshall for an inning, followed by Jonathan Weiss who pitched two innings, striking out four with Kelton Lachelt finishing the final two innings, earning the win.

Mesa will play a double-header on Wednesday vs Pima beginning at noon.
