9-0 Victory for #8 Mesa Baseball Over Scottsdale

Mesa, AZ - Getting back into conference play Tuesday afternoon, the #8 Mesa Thunderbirds defeated the Scottsdale Artichokes, 9-0.

The Birds used the second, third and fourth innings to score its runs, with the big scoring inning coming in the fourth.  Connor Denning knocked out his second homer of the season, atwo-run shot, down the right field line to begin the scoring.  After a Paul Steffensen single, Luke Patty tripled home Steffensen to make it a 7-0 game at that point.  Taylor Darden would knock Patty in later in the inning and Zach Wagner would later score Darden.

Carter Robinson had another fine outing on the bump for Mesa, throwing seven shutout innings, allowing four hits, striking out six while allowing no walks.  Dustin Schorie and Jake Beeler finished the final two innings of work.

Mesa moves to 23-8 on the season and 8-7 in conference play.  These two teams will be right back in action tomorrow at Scottsdale with a 3 pm start time.
