Mesa, AZ - The #15 Mesa Thunderbirds defeated the Scottsdale Artichokes Friday afternoon, 10-6, behind the arm of Cameron Doherty.
Doherty had a solid outing, throwing seven innings, allowing just five hits and one earned run. He struck out five while not allowing any walks in picking up his second win of the season.
Offensively, Paul Steffenson had a 3-5 day, with two RBI's and a run scored. Also knocking in two RBI's was Ben Lewis, who finished the day 1-5. All in total, Mesa had 12 hits.
The T-Birds are now 21-3 overall and 10-3 in ACCAC play. Mesa will be on the road tomorrow at Scottsdale, first pitch at noon.
