Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds baseball team opened the 2018 campaign with a 6-1 victory over the Benedictine University at Mesa JV Friday afternoon.

Though the Redhawks scored the first run of the game, it was the T-Birds who finished off the final six runs to begin the season on the right foot.

Mesa and Benedictine JV will be back at it Saturday for a double-header at Mesa CC, first pitch at noon.
