#4 Mesa Splits Two With Glendale

Glendale, AZ - The #4 Mesa Thunderbirds split two games with the Glendale Gauchos Friday and Saturday, with Mesa taking game one, 7-2, and Glendale taking game two on Saturday, 4-3.
On Friday, Mesa scored their seven runs in the the third and fourth innings. Kody Funderburk doubled in a run in the third inning, with Shawn Barrowdale singling in a run to help Mesa take a 3-1 lead.
Esteban Martinez singled in two of Mesa's four runs in the inning with Barrowdale again knocking in a run, this time by way of a sacrifice fly.
On Saturday, Mesa out hit the Gauchos, 7-6, but the T-Birds struck out eight times on the afternoon.
With the split, Mesa moves to 29-10 overall, 17-9 in the ACCAC conference. The T-Birds will have a few non-conference games on Tuesday and Wednesday but will play at Yavapai College on April 8th, first pitch at noon.
