#4 Mesa Play Host to Glendale in Best of Three Regional Semi-Final

The weather is heating up which only means that the baseball season is about to do the same thing as the regular season has ended and the post season begins.

The #4 national rank Mesa Thunderbirds will begin the Regionals as the #1 seed and will play host to the Glendale Gauchos, who are entering the Regionals as the #4 seed.  Mesa finished the regular season with a 40-15 overall record and a 26-14 ACCAC record.  The Gauchos finished 24-31 overall and 17-23 overall.

During the season, Mesa owned a better record against the Gauchos in the four games they played against each other, three games out of four.

All the games with Glendale will be played at Mesa.  They will play Thursday and Friday at 3 p.m. and if necessary, Saturday at noon.  The winner will go on to play the winner of #2 Gateway and #3 Scottsdale, May 12th-14th.

The winner of the Region 1 Tournament will play at the National Tournament in Enid, OK, held May 28th-June 4th.
