T-Birds Take First Conference Game of Season Against Glendale, 10-2

Mesa, AZ- With the season two weeks into motion and the T-Birds 9-0 playing against Club and JV teams, Mesa finally played a conference opponent Friday afternoon against the Glendale Gauchos at Mesa CC.

The T-Birds didn't miss a beat as they continued with their undefeated season with a 10-2 victory over the Gauchos.  Mesa had seven hits in the game.

Glendale's pitching made it easy in the first inning as the Gaucho starting pitcher walked the first four batters and allowed two wild pitches to a let two runners score.  Mesa scored three total in the inning to give T-Bird starting pitcher Kent Hasler some breathing room.

Hasler pitched well in his conference debut, allowing only one hit through seven innings and two runs.

Mesa did have moments of sloppy play on the defensive side along with a few base running errors but for being the first conference game of the season, Mesa looks poised for a solid season.

Mesa is now 10-0 on the season, 1-0 in the ACCAC.

The T-Birds and Gauchos will be at it again tomorrow afternoon, this time at Glendale with a noon first pitch start.
