PHOENIX, AZ - Phoenix took a 3-1 win over Mesa Friday afternoon, setting up a showdown for home field advantage in the Region I, Division II semi-finals when the two teams close the regular season Saturday at MCC at noon.
The Bears took a quick lead with three runs in the first.
MCC was unable to solve PC starter Irvin Ruiz until the eighth when Kyle Gibbs (Fr., Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista H.S.) drove in Jacob Boston (Fr., Chandler, AZ/Hamilton H.S.)
