Baseball slips to No. 3 in NJCAA DII poll
COLORADO SPRING, Colo - A short, three-game, losing streak last week has cost the Mesa baseball team one spot in the NCAA Division II national baseball rankings.
The T-Birds had been No. 2 in the first in-season poll, after holding the No. 1 spot in the pre-season rankings.
Riding a ten-game winning streak, MCC's bats went cold in a doubleheader loss to Arizona Western and a defeat by Glendale.
Since then, MCC has won two, both in come-from-behind fashion.
The T-Birds are now 30-8 and 19-7 in ACCAC play, their fifth 30-win season in the last six years. After a non-conference game at home with the Grand Canyon University Club Team, Mesa will go back into conference play with a doubleheader at Yavapai Saturday at noon.
