Baseball blanks Grand Canyon University Club, 14-0

  MESA, AZ - Mesa pounded out 14 hits, and two pitchers combined to limit the Grand Canyon University Club team to just two hits in a 14-0 T-Bird win Wednesday.

  Evan Fresquez (So., Las Vegas, Nev/Coronado H.S.) threw four scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing just two singles and was followed by Kent Hasler (Fr., Chander, AZ/Hamilton H.S.) with three scoreless and hitless frames. He fanned nine.

  Chad Leonard (So., Mesa, AZ/Queen Creek H.S.) tripled, homered and had four RBIs going 2-2.

  Mesa begins ACCAC play Friday when it visits Glendale for a 3:00 p.m. game. The two teams switch sites with the Gauchos traveling to Mesa Saturday at noon.
