The Pima Community College men's soccer team (8-1, 8-1 in ACCAC) won its fifth straight game on Tuesday with a late-game goal.
Sophomore Hector Banegas (Rincon HS) converted on a penalty kick in the 88th minute as the No. 6 ranked Aztecs defeated Mesa Community College (4-4-1, 4-4-1) 2-1.
The Aztecs trailed 1-0 at halftime after the Thunderbirds scored in the 28th minute.
Freshman Julian Gaona (Tucson Magnet HS) tied the game at 1-1 in the 60th minute with an assist from fellow freshman Chris Cooper (University HS).
Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Anderson (Salpointe Catholic HS) finished the game with six saves.
The Aztecs face a tough road test on Thursday when they play at No. 12 ranked Arizona Western College in Yuma at 4:30 p.m.
