Women's soccer, volleyball volunteer at Feed My Starving Children

One of the many things the Mesa athletic department focus on teaching student athletes is that there is a much bigger world around them than just the sport they play.

Volunteerism is a major aspect of what student athletes and coaches pride themselves in at Mesa.  Each team takes time out of their busy training schedules to help their surrounding communities in anyway possible.  It is part of becoming the "whole" athlete, not just some jock who can just play sports.

Both the women's soccer and volleyball teams spent their morning down at Feed My Starving Children.  Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit.  Mesa has for a long time been in connection with F.M.S.C. when their location was near the I-10 in Tempe.  Just recently though they have relocated to Alma School and the US 60, less than a mile from the Mesa Southern and Dobson campus.

Both teams were able to pack enough boxes to feed 90 starving children in India for a full year.

Visit www.fmsc.org/Mesa for more information on how you can volunteer.
