Carolina Quintana To Help with 1st Concussion Research for Horse Jockeys

Carolina Quintana will head to the University of Kentucky to finish her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences.

She'll be conducting concussion research and helping develop a concussion management protocol for jockeys.

This will be the first time that something like this will be developed for jockeys considering most other sports organizations have a concussion policy in place.

Carolina joined the Mesa athletic training team last season and worked with the soccer, basketball and track and field programs for the T-Birds.

"This is an incredible opportunity for her," said Mesa Athletic Director John Mulhern "not only will she be undertaking a ground breaking concussion management protocol for jockey's, she'll also be getting her PhD.  We are extremely proud of her."
