Mesa unveils athletic Hall of Fame Display

Mesa, AZ - The Mesa athletic department has unveiled its brand new Athletic Hall of Fame display in the lobby of Theo Heap gym.

It is all part of an effort to celebrate MCC's outstanding athletic history and coincides with several other projects that have turned the lobby into a virtual T-Bird athletic museum.

The Hall of Fame display consists of individual plaques for each of the 52 currently-inducted members. A new plaque will be added for future inductees. The plaques include a stylized image of each person and a short description of their Mesa career.

Also new this summer is a re-designed trophy case that features the most important awards that MCC athletics has earned over the years. Included are the 20 national championship trophies (actually replicas will be added for a few no longer available) and other notable memorabilia.

In addition, plaques now line the walls for many of the T-Birds' regional championships and banners hang along the north wall honoring each of the national championships. The three most recent national titles (women's basketball and baseball in 2013-14 and men's golf in 2016-17) are represented by four-by-eight foot team photos.

Not to be forgotten, a display just to the left of the Hall of Fame features each of MCC's current teams and coaches.

Finally, a video display will be added on the east wall at a later date.
