Mesa honors top academic student-athletes
Mesa, AZ – The Mesa athletic department announced its academic award winners for 2017-18 at its winter-spring recognition night Wednesday.
The awards honor the male and female student-athletes with the highest overall GPAs in the department as well as the leaders for each team.
Here are the winners:
Top female – Jordan Alvarez, cross country, 16 hours at 4.00
Top male – Luke Jernigan, cross country, 17 hours at 4.00
Women's golf – Megan Fusak, 13 hours at 4.00
Women's basketball – Takara Wade, 13 hours at 4,00
Softball – Mercedes Navarro, 15 hours at 4.00
Women's track and field, Ashlyn DiDomenico, 13 hours at 4.00
Women's soccer – Catherine Ramirez, 15 hours at 4.00
Women's cross country – Jordan Alvarez, 16 hours at 4.00
Volleyball – Rachel Graff, 14 hours at 4.00
Women's tennis – Audra Spargo, 12 hours at 3.50
Baseball – Connor Denning, 14 hours at 4.00
Football – Oladejo Sholola, 17 hours at 3.81
Men's cross country – Luke Jernigan, 17 hours at 4.00
Men's soccer - Morgan Barta, 16 hours at 4.00
Men's track and field - Joshua Tucker, 12 hours at 4.00
