Mesa Breaking into Top 20 National in Four Fall Sports

The Mesa Thunderbirds are entering this week of athletic competition with four teams ranked in the NJCAA top 20, something that hasn't occured for the T-Birds in quite sometime.

The men's and women's cross country teams each come in ranked inside the top 10, with the women ranked 5th and the men 9th.  Each team had a tremedious finish at the ACCAC Championships in Coolidge, AZ, where both teams having a runner up finish.

In volleyball, the T-Birds are currently sitting with the #17 ranking in the DII section, with a record of 9-4 overall and 6-2 in the ACCAC.  Mesa has won six of their last seven matches and look to continue their hot play against Scottsdale this weekend.  

Mesa's football team entered the top 20 realm this past week with a convincing win over Glendale, 42-7.  The T-Birds are ranked #19 and are being led by quarterback Rathen Ricedorff, who earned Western States Football League Offensive Player of the Week for fourth time in his career.  Ricedorff last week earn NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week for leading the T-Birds in victory over then #1 Snow College.
